[He doesn't respond immediately, simply giving her a vaguely perplexed look like he's not even sure what he's thinking.]
He didn't tell me that you guys were going to Mair. [Not that he's surprised Jason left that information out. He shakes his head, staring down at his feet instead.] …both of you better be careful and get back here alive and mostly in one piece or I'm gonna be really mad.
[He wants to know what's in Mair, but he doesn't feel right bugging Grell to tell him. Instead, he just settles for a small frown.] Just how long are you guys gonna be gone this time?
[the look doesn't pass her by, and she can only assume that Jason wanted to keep that quiet. whoops?]
At most, we'll be gone a day and a night. No lingering, and if it'll reassure you, I'll come hand deliver your bracelet back so you can see with your own eyes that we're back.
We were on the same boat to Leathann. He... [Okay, deep breath. Trying to figure out how to explain this.] Did I ever tell you that back home, the Keyblade is really special? Most people don't have them, and they're not something you can just make, or anything like that.
Back home, it was just me and my friend, Roxas. But Riku has one too. I saw it. He even said there were others here who have them. He even knew one of the worlds I went to.
[It's more than she ever could have imagined, and maybe doesn't quite answer all of his questions but she hopes it helps.]
[Part of him thinks that he's being totally ridiculous by wanting to take her up on that offer. On the other hand, he's not really in the mood to risk losing even more people. He seems to be internally debating that, face scrunching up slightly as he waffles on an answer.]
...promise? As soon as you guys get back and you're rested up you'll bring my bracelet back? [The new question is what the hell they're doing that could only take a day, but he'll ask later.] It might be better if you did anyway. Who knows when Jason would feel like giving it back. f
Promise. After I get back and sleep, I'll seek you out and give it back. And Hiro, I can't thank you enough that you're lending it now. Without it, I doubt we'd be able to get even close to the city.
[Bingo. The Void was exactly why Yuri was heading there. Hearing about it was frightening and all, but he wants to see just how it's been affecting the world aside from being vaguely threatening.]
Beats me. [In a way, it feels like he's gone back to a point before Brave Vesperia's formation, when he first left Zaphias. He'd been someone drifting, lost. Unsure of his purpose or where to go. The Drabwurld was amazing, he can't deny that. But he can't say that he doesn't feel a little... small, maybe?
Yeah. Small was a good way to put it. But he's got to do what he's always done: keep his head up and feet firm on the path he's chosen.] I'll be staying however long it takes for me to be satisfied. Besides, I'm enjoying myself out here. You should tag along.
[Truthfully, Xion hadn't mentioned the Keyblade at all before this conversation but he's aware that it's some kind of weapon. Apparently it's a special kind of weapon so he just sits and listens to Xion's explanation.
If it's supposed to be a special weapon, then that means that this guy she's talking about is something very special, too. Kinda like how Thor's one of the few (if not only) people to be able to wield Mjolnir.]
Okay so this Riku guy has one of these magic Keyblade things, there are others here with the same things, and you've never met any of them even though they're super rare? [Great.] So what does that really mean if multiple people have them? What did he say when you told him you had one?
[There's a small huff of laughter.] Think you'll have to just take some really good notes for me. I'm...kinda supposed to stay back at the castle except for special circumstances. [Over the last two months, it's grown easier to tell people about the fact he has his deal with Jason. Doesn't make it any less embarrassing though.]
But I appreciate the offer and maybe someday I'll take you up on that. There's a few places you can go in Leathaan to explore and a few people you can talk to. It's still one of the cooler cities I've been to since showing up in the Drabwurld even if I didn't get to stay more than a week. [A beat.] I mostly wanna know about the Void. It wasn't as visible when I was down there.
[There's a bit of a languid shrug.] Anytime you need it, it's yours to borrow. [And it's said with the utmost sincerity.] Just be careful. Both of you. And while you're gone I'll stick around here and see what I can do with my usual resources. [A slight grin.] Seems like a good plan to me.
[Nico writes back mostly because of how corny some of these letters Hiro sent are. Well, and because he wants Hiro to know that he hasn't disappeared or forgotten the dumb, teenage genius.]
[June 24th]
Those were awful and you should feel bad, but I liked the sketch. It was cute. I also wanted to tell you that I'm now related to my big sis legally as of yesterday.

[June 30th]
I actually have a Roman demigod friend here, now. He might appreciate that joke, if he hasn't heard it before. The nerd jokes are charming I think?. But they're terrible, oh my gods. Looking good in that armor and I'm totally not that cool looking in action.
[July 1st]
I'll stay safe as long as you do.
[Because Elysium help the poor soul who kills Hiro in combat and Nico hears about it.]
I traveled a lot. And...just didn't tell anybody where I was going most of the time. And kinda had questionable company. ....annnd almost got myself killed a few times? [That's putting it very, very lightly.] We're not related or anything but I'm also not in the mood to really piss him off if I break more rules and he finds out.
[Not that he's not finding baby loopholes, but regardless.] Anything you can find would be awesome. Maybe throw a rock into the Void and see what happens or something.
Well now that depends. Are you at any time planning on kidnapping me, helping me chase down a dog of death, or defecting and going against our cause and joining the Seelie? Because even if the answer to all of those is "no" you'll probably have to go through a huge screening process.
[And what's fun is that it's hard to tell if he's serious or not. Oh well.]
[Hiro would be walking through one of the larger courtyards in the castle when he'd here that familiar giggle, but echoy and a bit distant. Maybe above him?]
[A few moments after that, before he can actually leave the courtyard, there'd be the sound of hands clapping together.]
Heeeeeeey Hero, what's goin' on?
[But there's no actual sign of Lumina anywhere...]
[She'll feel bad about that once she realizes. She hadn't meant to be confusing, though Hiro's mostly picked on the pertinent bits.]
Well, I had it when he found me. [She hesitates, then adds] And... he kind of knew about it anyway? Katsa told him I was here but... she didn't know my name then. And he wrote me a letter but... he thought I was someone else.
[Rather he wrote the letter because he thought she was someone else. The whole thing's a bit of a mess, really.]
But he asked me where I got it which... I don't really remember.
If you don't ask for it yourself, I will. [He's kind of worried about her burning out to be honest. Her jobs are a lot more strenuous than his and he's seen the way stress can affect people. Sometimes Tadashi was really horrible to deal with when he was overworked. But he'll trust her for now.]
Sure. I'll see if I can get a night free this week and I'll be out there. Let me know what else you need.
I'd like to see you call him a secretary to his face and see how that goes. [But he knows it's stupid, Yuri. But it needs to be done because Hiro's kind of a terror and he knows it.] It's just...a precaution, you know? War's not really my expertise. I just know things and learn about things and build things.
[Everything was fine and he was lost in his own thoughts when he heard Lumina. He immediately stops, turning his head to see if he could spot her but there's nothing. His imagination's powerful, he knows that, but...this is absurd. He continues to walk but then he hears her speak and he stops again, narrowing his eyes as he looks over his shoulder.]
Lumina...that better be you and not someone who's learned to imitate you. [Where are you, dude. Seriously. He's even going as far as turning in a circle to look for her.]
[It's fine, he's used to leaving things out whether it's on purpose or not, too. It's nothing that he can't figure out on his own and ask for details later. As Xion keeps talking though he's lifting an eyebrow higher and higher.
So. Now there's mistaken identities thrown into the mix…along with Katsa, on top of Xion's memory problems and these mysterious magical keys and some dude named Riku. This whole story sounds kinda messed up and for a minute he doesn't say anything as he allows himself to think it through.]
So where's the guy now? And why would he think you were somebody else? Unless there's some girl in his timeline that's running around with a keyblade. [This makes absolutely no sense. And there's one really, really big thing that bothers him, something that suddenly just clicks in his head the more he thinks about the fact that Riku thought Xion was someone else, that Riku wrote a letter and that Katsa had to be the one to mention it to Riku.]
Man, don't even. I think some of Loki's imps learned how to sing and that's gonna make things weird enough. [He's still busy craning his head back toward the sky to see where she's at. This is So Not Cool.]
Besides, how can the imps learn to copy you if the imps can't even find you?
