[February had been an..interesting sort of month. He'd spent all of January with Nico learning how to fight and defend himself and following the boy around neutral territories to start taking out the dead and laying them to rest, crashing in abandoned houses sometimes and sometimes just sleeping outside in tents Hiro kept in his backpack. Over time in January the boys got closer and Hiro realized that even despite that? He still felt horrible about what occurred with Jason. The task kept him marginally distracted though, and Nico was obviously great company.
In February, the pair had decided to split up so that Nico could work in some of the Seelie territories and Hiro could do some research in Redgate. He'd found Loki and gained access to the library but even that wasn't enough. But he needed the downtime, honestly. He needed time to sort his thoughts and that came from spending time with Billy Kaplan and Loki. His head was spinning from the things he'd learned about Billy and the things he was starting to learn about himself. The need for answers drove him to Mair though to the side of the Lady of Mair, Grell. With Grell's assistance he learned more of what he needed to know and received aid for the journey (not to mention someone he considered an ally.)
The beginning of March meant calling Nico back to collect him and continue their journey. Things were like before, and yet...slightly different. He was a little more awkward if there was too much silence, a little more comfortable poking Nico in the forehead or bumping their shoulders together, a little more open about what he was thinking and that included a few idle comments about Jason Todd. He'd mentioned to Nico briefly about who Jason was and what had happened, but it wasn't until about the second week of March that he really explained.
"I told Jason about what we were doing and he got kinda crazy and wanted to come with us. I told him no. He asked if I was ready to join my brother. I got mad and told him I was going no matter what and hung up and ran away. And I think that was the wrong way to do it."
Most of their nights when they weren't working were spent just talking about different things, but sometimes the conversation would turn back to Jason. He hated admitting it but he royally screwed up and missed the older man a lot.
Nico...Nico for the most part was a fantastic listener and truthfully that's probably what Hiro needed. It helped, anyway, and he tried not to dwell too much and be a good sidekick instead.
It's the end of March when Nico shadowtravels them to the Station. The boys are currently sitting at a table in the cafe so that Nico can rest and Hiro's sipping on an iced coffee, staring at one of the little rune jars Loki gave him for Christmas that's holding a small (but angry) spirit. They'd have to take care of it later that night.
For now though, Hiro's main focus is to make sure Nico didn't pass out face-first on the table and also not to compulsively check his candy tin to see if maybe Jason figured out how to make the knife himself. He should be at ease at the Station, but he's nervous. Tired, nervous, and a little worried that it's been so long.
He's not going to say anything though. It's just clear that even as his thoughts wander and he's occasionally glancing around the Station to see who else is there, he's keeping a very close eye on Nico and occasionally pushing his foot into the boy's shin to keep him conscious.]
