It is, he knows it is, but he has some pretty big shoes to fill and an ego to match.] I want to learn everything I can about this place so that I'm ready for next time.

I actually didn't think of it. [This is the fun part of the story and the one time he'll be willing to admit he didn't actually think of something.] Lemina's the one who brought it up to me. You know the feast that was going on right before the battle? I was there and I...I mean you've seen the armor here. It's kinda outdated. Soooo I was drawing up plans for some new stuff, Lemina starts talking about enchanting them for me, and I wanted to know what she wanted.

[People don't usually do things without a price attached.] How do you think she roped me into being Junior Premier of her Guild? [The fondness in his tone is pretty evident though. He adores her for now.] That was the price. Join her Guild and she'd teach me to do whatever I wanted. Fire's the easiest to learn and she kinda gave me a jumpstart but I had enough of my own raw power to make flames after the first try.

[And then promptly freak out and refuse to try again for a few days. But Katsa doesn't have to know that.] Lemina told me that everybody has some magical ability and this place just enhances that. Anybody can learn how to use magic if they're dedicated enough.
