If this is fixing, then I'd hate to see what you do when you break things.
[As if that's not enough of a slap to the face, he actually continues on and doesn't hold back this time.]
Firstly, the only things you're fixing are the things that aren't the heart of the problem. You'd rather avoid and suppress the hurt and ignore your troubles until someone else forces them into the light for you. Tinker with your machinery, help someone else, whatever will keep your mind away from the pain and the memories and the problems.
Secondly, if you could fix everything, then we wouldn't be having this conversation. You would most likely not even be here, but at Caer Scima or wherever your friends are instead of avoiding them. You're only one person, and a single person simply cannot do everything.
And lastly, you're scared of facing the true problems, aren't you? You're scared of letting that grief and anger out. You're scared that you won't have the answer to the problem or that the answer you get is not the one you desperately want. You're scared of letting people see that or letting them in far enough to see that you're not as fine as you say you are and pretend to be.

Hmph.
[There's some terrible deja vu going on.]
