[Sure, it sounds ominous but it's Yang. If it was anyone but her he'd be a little more suspicious. Still he's up and he's grabbing his hoodie and making his way to the gym, vaguely wondering why they're training this early. Maybe his aura will work better at this time of day, who knows?

...did he tell Ruby Yang unlocked his aura? He should. At least thinking of her always helps him to calm down and he proceeds to jog to the usual training gym.

It honestly hasn't occurred to him that this might be something else, and so he walks in while looking at his CereVice to check the network.]

[Good question. If he were Yamato what would he do? There happened to be a dead radio silence before he looked the other way.

But just then, Patamon spoke up!]

He should apologize, that's how! And that he should make sure that he doesn't do it again! Because that's how brothers and friends are, they fight!

[There's a soft snort of amusement.] Patamon's right. That's how brothers and friends are. Sounds like you're on the right track to make a sequel. Think you could finish it before I see you at the end of your grounding?

[Well, that's not Yang's voice.

Yang's here, though, promise. She just has company-- company that'll be waving one of his hands casually when Hiro looks up before going right back to his position of arms folded over his chest, head tilted to look in his direction.]

Whatever you say, Hamada-kun. I don't really know why either, it just kind of happens. [Granted that Minato does talk to some of the girls a few times before they become friends...]

What he said. [ Thanks, boyfriend. Yang is also standing there with her arms folded, a frown on her face. ]

Actually, I think we're overdue for a talk, Hiro.

[He looks up from the CereVice very slowly, first taking in Naoki, then Yang, then Naoki, and then Yang again. He's already taking a step back like he's considering bolting out of the room and his eyes are wide as he puzzles out what exactly is happening here.]

A talk? [Ahaha oh god he's going to die. He's going to die by Yang's hands and Naoki's here to dig the grave with his demons to hide his tiny nerd body and make sure he doesn't reboot.] Wait, what kind of talk involves Naoki? [A quick glance back to him.] No offense, dude.

Mm.

[ Just a noise of assent. At the information he's being presented. A couple of months puts Hiro ahead of him in terms of knowledge and adjustment. That's useful to know. Even moreso that the other seems keen on sharing that information. Well, two ehads are better than one, as they say. ]

I'll think of some ways, if I can. Code breaking wasn't exactly my specialty, but I got good at drafting codes or similar things just out of sheer boredom.

[ He'll let it lie for now. ]

No other doctors? How odd. [ Not that he knows a ton personally, but it's a fairly occupied profession back home, regardless of war. The medical field still remains lucrative. ]

I learned patience by eavesdropping. Probably not the best way to go about things, but it let me put things together the more I listened. People give things away without even talking, too. Sometimes it's still difficult to parse meaning from what they're saying, though.

This apparently "kind of happens" to both of you. Remind me not to get older if I'm going to ever have to deal with stuff like that, it's hard enough keeping up with just one girl.

[Naoki you traitor! He's trying to dig his heels into the ground so he can't be moved but honestly he probably weighs barely over 100 pounds on a good day. So away they go and he finds himself essentially trapped.

This...makes a scary amount of sense, even if he's not sure how to respond. How come Tadashi doesn't go around intimidating people for hi--okay, well, to be fair Tadashi took care of bullies for him as a kid. But this is infinitely worse.]

[He's not a traitor! He's always completely utterly on Yang's side so there you go. Sorry Hiro. Finished his herding, Naoki folds his arms over his chest, standing slightly off to the side.

And he looks over at Yang without commenting on those words as though to say "What about Ruby, he says".]

[ Yang angles a glance back, a "Wow, he must think we're really dumb" kind of response, before she looks over at Hiro. ]

Oh, I don't know, the fact that she's dating you now miiiiiight have something to do with it. And since you're her boyfriend now, there's some ground rules we have to lay down.

[Oh.]

Sooo....you know. [Eh heh.] I didn't know Ruby told you already. By the way why didn't you tell me she liked me when we talked about this like a week ago? [Seriously, Yang. But he knows that she's serious so he quiets down, glancing between the pair of them. Why are they both so much taller than he is? Why this?]

Okay. What kind of ground rules do you guys have for me? [His expression's trying to convey a "I'll think about listening" attitude, but his tone is definitely more "I am vaguely terrified where this is going."]

It's not cool for someone besides the person who likes you to tell you first.

[He's commenting, even though he wasn't there at the time yeah he can say something there. And human beings are complicated and he could go into other things but he won't.

Then, glancing over to her again:]

What should we start with, Yang?

Anything you could come up with would be appreciated. Dipper and I are trying to work some stuff out but CERES doesn't exactly make it easy. [A pause.] But code drafting might actually help...what do you know about writing uncrackable code?

Some other healers, but no other real doctors. Could also just be because I haven't been looking that hard...the only reason I found out about Otome is because there was a title hanging over her head and she corrected me. [There's a sound of agreement then.]

I've been trying to network and learn about people as much as possible here just to be on the safe side of things. With the way things go in the colony you never know when we're going to need a doctor or a waterbender or a demon tamer or...I don't know, a circus clown or something. [A beat.] I mean I've never met one of those here but I'm just saying. Everything's possible and that's both good and bad.

So wait you spy on people and you test your patience by how long you can go in figuring out what they mean? That's one of the weirdest things I've ever heard. At the same time though I guess that's actually pretty good practice, until you get to the people who say things they don't mean. You guys didn't know about the other pilots for a long time, right? Quatre was the only one who initially saw the benefit of working together?
