But about a day after the rest of the squad wakes up in a tree, he'll be getting a call from Kashuu, who was kind of busy being stuck back as an actual inanimate object for a while. Intense orbs, gotta watch out for those.]

[It takes a little bit for him to really place what's going on, truth be told. He sat up quite suddenly when the chime went off on his CereVice and his vision's swimming again as he tries to place the voice. It doesn't take long at least.]

Kashuu! Yeah, hey, we're back. We all got back out not long after you did. Turns out our little orb friend was actually sort of useful. Sort of. Are you okay? How's your vessel? [Which is sort of like "how are you."]

[A GOOD SIGN. He's so glad the rest of the shonen ducklings made it out okay...]

Good! Good, good - It really did feel okay, so I'm glad. [Even if he's still like why did it throw me into a tree. But hey, small beans compared to all of the missing people who are now in the great deadman wonderland in the sky.]

I'm fine. I ended up in a tree but Haruji manifested me again earlier today.

[Which is where the delay came from, at least. SURE DID HAVE A SLUMBER PARTY out with the birds in a tree...]

You guys're all okay?

"Okay" is kinda subjective but for the most part. Everybody's still in one piece. Dave's still got most of his hair. [A smirk...but it fades because poor touchbot.] We all got stuck in a tree when we managed to get out of there, too.

[To tell Kashuu, or not tell Kashuu. Tell Kashuu, or not...]

...buuuut things kinda went really bad really fast after you disappeared. And I might have had to tell Phoenix and Dave about what you are? Sorry.

[Dave told him about the poor touchbot's fate, he's pretty sad for it... It was only trying to help!! A pure bean who just liked Dave's hair.]

That guy really liked it, huh? [The bot and Dave's hair, respectively.] But - I mean, it's good you're all still alive and stuff. And that you got down from the tree. Now we just gotta figure out, y'know... everything.

[What the orb was, what that place was, why the robot shoved them in there... That said!! Hiro didn't do a goof this time, since Kashuu doesn't sound even remotely upset.]

Oh - that's fine! I tell everyone. It's a secret at home, but it's not like there's any reason to keep it one here, too. [GOOD WORK, KASHUU.] But thanks, and sorry about just like, ditching you guys.

[A snort.] Man. You'd think it was gonna try to build a nest out of Dave's hair at the rate it was going.

[It's easier to joke about that than really put thought into what happened.] Good to know though. I wasn't sure how you guys felt about telling people around here but...guess we've got a lot of different people in this place anyway. And you didn't ditch us, all right? If you hadn't touched the orb we wouldn't have thought of it as a way out. So...thanks. I'm just glad it didn't actually deconstruct you all the way down.

[A thoughtful pause.] We were all gone for like five hours. All five of us. And get this? I think there were other groups of people, too.

[There's a little airy laugh from his side of the line too, since the mental image is admittedly pretty hilarious...

And he appreciates hearing that, too. The situation would be entirely different if any of them had died, but since things turned out for the best, he doesn't have to hold that guilt so tightly.]

Mm, yeah - mostly people just go, "whaaat, seriously?!" when we tell 'em. It's no big deal. [At least someone was there to explain because hooboy what if everyone just thought he was vaporized or something... And as far as Max Deconstruction goes - Kashuu grows silent for a second.] Me, too. Whatever that thing was, it was... a lot.

[And having your own existence overwhelmed to the point of being essentially trapped in your own body is pretty dang unnerving.]

Eh— I think you're right about that too, though. A lotta numbers are still coming up all weird.

[The lack of guilt is a good thing. He'd hate for Kashuu to think that he really abandoned them.] What did you see in it before you totally self-destructed anyway? Was it the same thing we saw?

[It sounds scary, let's be real. But he rolls right into the next question, too.] I have no idea how many of us were gone, but they had to be somewhere else, too. We were the only five in our section, but we still don't even know where we were. It's something we've gotta start asking around.

Mm, I dunno. What did you guys see? [As for his own weirdass experience:] I saw a bunch of feathers, but that's it. Most of what I met was just - feeling. Like, it felt nice - kind? But then I got a lot of other sad feelings... Like something bad was coming? Or about to happen...? [The "danger and death" part.] And like I lost something.

[It had been a lot of bad feelings, especially on the tail end of that benevolence.]

Um— But yeah, I've been doing that with the people who-- are back already. I'm pretty sure we'll get a lot more info to work with in a few days, though.

[When all of the DEAD PEOPLE COME BACK.]

Feathers? [That's new. So...maybe that would explain touchbot's whole bird thing, but he's shaking his head after that.] We ended up seeing a pretty dead planet. [And the rest he'll have to tell Kashuu not on the CereVice just in case.] Which...sorta makes me wonder if that's something we should be looking forward to or not.

[ISN'T IT NICE HAVING DEAD FRIEN--oh wait.] You're probably right. Whatever just happened to all of us? It was on a way bigger scale than we thought. But you gotta wonder why us, too.

Mm, yeah. [FEATHERS. There was definitely a weird bird... theme going on in their group. Poor Dave.

He makes a little interested noise in response, but knows better than to talk about these things openly by now, so he doesn't ask for further details.]

Let's hope, like. Not. [PLEASE.] But I was kinda wondering that, too. We were definitely singled out.

You me and Phoenix have been here for a while, but what about Dave and Chuya? I've never met them before then. What would they have that would single them out too? Who else do you know that totally disappeared?

I know Chuya showed up in that new group of people, so I have nooo idea what'd single him out. Um... But I know Tsurumaru, Hakata, Nakigitsune, Imanotsurugi and Mikazuki were gone outta my comrades. Saitou and Okita, too. Lili's gone... I don't really know what connects any of these guys.

[There are more he could think of too, but he'd run into the same problem. No immediate outward similarities.]

--wait Lili's gone? [That's the only name he recognizes and it's...kind of sad to hear.] Neither of the people from my world were pulled out, but a lot of my friends were? I checked the CereVice this morning. Two people from Ruby and Yang's world, my friend Dipper, Levi's gone, Adelina went...I don't get it. None of these people fit in any kind of pattern at all except for "maybe sometimes from the same world."

I think Dave might have shown up with that new group, too. He didn't seem to know a lot about how this place worked. Were any your friends in the same group?

Yeah, Lili's - still gone.

[SO, probably dead. But he'll just. Deal with that later.]

I don't think so. Nakigitsune and Hakata aren't back yet, but it sounds like the rest of us got separated... Sooo, a bunch of people from the same world got pulled in but none of us ended up together. You should check with those two people from Ruby and Yang's world too, to see if it's the same for them. [Since he only knows two those two from that world.]

...great. [That's a bummer. He likes Lili.]

I'll have to check with Jaune and Weiss when they get back. [They sure are dead, too.] But I mean that makes even less sense. Why bring in a bunch of people from the same place and people that know each other just to separate them? What're they trying to prove? I know what we found and what we saw...any idea about the others?

[HE DOES TOO which is why he promptly decides to just not say anything about it and pretend everything is Okay.]

Not yet, no. Most of the people I've talked to have been pretty disoriented... But I haven't done a lot of checking around yet, either. I wanted to make sure you guys were okay, first.

[Since they were his little group!! He was partially responsible or something...!]

...that's pretty cool of you dude. Thanks. I appreciate it. [And he does sound like he appreciates it at least instead of just blowing it off.] I know you're a sword and everything but you just got back. Maybe consider taking it easy? [He's pretty sure he won't, but to be fair if Hiro had his way he wouldn't be taking it easy after everything they saw either.]

[He is right in his assumption because Kashuu is a worrying busybody at best, but he still appreciates the sentiment.]

You're a good kid, y'know? Thanks. I'll take a break after I check up on everyone else. [It's an extensive list and he's going to be roped into a makeshift search party BUT HE DID HIS BEST.]

You gonna be okay for now?

Yeah, I get that. I've got some people I still wanna touch base with too. [He nods even though he belatedly realizes that Kashuu can't see that. He doesn't know how to respond to being called a good kid, but sure. Better than arguing it.] My brother's around and I have friends looking after me. I'll be fine.

[He sure is hoping he'll find something interesting to report back with. Scattered information that has everyone shrugging is just going to be a headache...]
