Obviously the Research Tower is important to them, but it is too dangerous to go inside anymore.
Why can't we just detonate it from the outside? It will be like squeezing a pimple! Cleanse the outside to cleanse the inside!

It would, but only because I've got something bigger in the works. [Which is funny, since even that project changes after their visit to the dark area. But it's all the same.]
