[After the even more horrifying events of the morning Hiro's found himself asking Pal for something to keep him busy. A tool kit is a simply request and though it's not exactly a similar set of tools he's used to, he can think of a few days he can use everything granted to him.

It's at least until he can get what he really wants. Answers. Answers are valuable and he's aware he has to earn them.

He's about to turn and leave when he notices someone further down the beach. It's more noticeable now that the others have started to split off, too. The robots are long-gone and they're all left to their own devices, and with said tools in his hands, he realizes it's as good a time as any to check in.

...Raven had told Hiro that it might not hurt to talk to Bellamy anyway, and given the fact that Bellamy seems like someone who knows what he's doing, that's not a bad thought. It's with that in mind that he heads down the beach to approach.]

...how're you holding up? [That's probably not the question he should be asking, but you know.]

I'll be fine.

[That's largely a lie, but he's not going to dump all of his messy, horrible emotions on Hiro. He's just a kid, and he shouldn't be asking after everyone else. So:]

What about you?

[zerotohiro]

I'll be fine. [See, he can play that game, too? Bellamy doesn't need to know literally everything going around in circles in his head when he can push down all of his fear and anger and focus on being productive. It worked at home, it'll work here. So instead, there's a short half-smile.]

But it looks like we're definitely going to be here for a while. I uh. [There's a pause.] Actually wanted to come find you? I think I might have come up with something to help catch fish easier. And Raven and I were talking yesterday and...what do you know about traps?

[Bellamy is basically the space equivalent of Bear Grylls in Hiro's head, apparently.]

[jettisons]

Enough.

[Vague and unhelpful, Bellamy.]

What kind of trap are we talking about here? Just for the fish?

[zerotohiro]

Not just for fish but for security, too. Like catching people from breaking into other people's huts, that sort of thing. We know the Chiefs can go after anybody they want if someone asks, but if we can even slow that down a little I think that might help.

[jettisons]

I can do it. We'll need more supplies than we have, though.

[zerotohiro]

I tried asking for things and they pretty much gave me a toolkit that can only be used in specific situations. It's a start, but I think we might need to be a little creative about the supplies on hand. What're you thinking would be best?

[jettisons]

What kind of tools did they give you? We won't be able to build anything too complex if we're working with rocks and seashells.

[zerotohiro]

Basic stuff. Some pliers, a screwdriver, some zip-ties. Nothing that would work too well but well enough. I'm hoping to use the zip-ties for fish traps but we could maybe use them on people, too.

[jettisons]

I'll see what I can figure out. It wouldn't be hard to rig some basic alarms even if we can't manage anything more complex.

Even the basics are a start. I'm hoping to keep asking for stuff or finding stuff that we can constantly upgrade. It's about the only thing we can do in preparation while we try to figure out the rest. [A beat.] It's easier, in a way.
