Yes. And I spoke with her before I went out there. I know it wasn't a good idea but I wanted to take a look myself so I could start working on what she wanted me to look into. Sorry. I left a few days ago.

Shard magic. Just research for right now. I've been spending most of my time in the library here trying to find something useful. …Clarke's been teaching me runic magic, too. It's not the same, but it might help. Protection wards, maybe I can figure out a way to apply them to stop people from getting in our heads.

You're gonna end up hitting dead ends on that stuff, Hiro. I don't know that's where you should be looking. [It's not that he thinks that Hiro isn't smart enough, it's the information that Morla gave them. It just spells out "pointless."]

We got some information, and you're gonna come up mostly empty-handed. Ariadne may not have had it when she told you to do that, but I'm gonna guess now that you're going to run out of finding anything actually good to use.

I know. I've hit a ton already. [That's also the polite way of saying he hasn't been sleeping at all while working on this crap. It's probably more evident the longer they talk.] But I want to keep trying anyway. This world is thousands of years old or whatever. Somebody's bound to know where to find something we don't know.

And anyway this is all I can really do right now. [But…maybe Jason's right. Maybe he needs to back out and just let the adults handle this. Not that this has ever stopped him before, but. He's sort of at a loss.] I want to give it more time. Maybe it'll give me a lead where to look next, or what to look for next. Something. [On top of restructuring the R&D, that is. [He'd argue. He'd keep arguing and defend his point but it's become clear to him that it's not going to make a difference. He doesn't fully believe him and he's going to keep researching while working on his other projects, but…maybe it won't matter. He has to pinpoint his research better. Be more direct, less scattered and broad. But it's not worth explaining it and honestly he's still a little gun-shy explaining anything to Jason in the first place. He had a point. He had bigger things to deal with than Hiro's bullshit.]
