[He shakes his head, realizing it's kinda useless to argue with her. It's Lumina. Usually he loses those arguments.]
...whatever. I promise it's not that interesting. [A beat.] They were my brother's friends first. Tadashi tricked me into visiting his university one night and that's how I met everybody and decided I wanted to apply there. Then some things happened and we...[We what, Hiro?] Let's just say we had to team up for a huge project and just kept going. We saved the city and realized that we were the only ones who could help. That's all.
[He doesn't have as hard of a time talking about his life now as he did when he first arrived...but it's Lumina. He knows they sort of rely on each other to keep things fun and light and...he's pretty sure neither of their stories are light at all.]
I wouldn't call it a gang. But sure. A good gang. [There's a pause in his speech as they finally enter the armoury and he walks toward the back where he knows the shields are. They would be the most reflective.]
People were starting to call us Big Hero 6. They took it seriously enough.
Of course I'm checking to see if you're lying. It wouldn't be the first time.
[He watches her whirl away and reappear before shaking his head and picking up one of the shields, glancing to see what he sees...did it work? Did it not work? He has to know. Even so though he has to ask.]
Why not just make a team here? You've got friends, don't you?
[There's a sound of surprise upon noticing that nope, he sure isn't there.]
Whoa. [Wait, what were you saying Lumina?] What? Oh. I don't know, work with them? Spend time with them? That's usually what teams do. And how old is old? Like as old as some of my friends are?
No, I meant our friends from back home. [He's just going to reach up though and finally take the clip out of his hair. His bangs sweep back over his forehead and he becomes fully visible again, holding the clip out to her.] What about them?

Well it was about that, but now we seem to be talking about you, huh.

Did you have a tough gang name? So everyone knew to take you seriously?

People were starting to call us Big Hero 6. They took it seriously enough.

Looking to see if I'm lying, huh Hero?
[She giggles as they enter, getting caught up in a swirl of energy and reappearing perched on one of the higher shield shelves.]

I don't know. What would I do with a team?
Plus most of my friends are old.

Well, yeah. I mean, a lot of my friends and your friends are the same people.
