[It's alarming, sure, but it's nothing to panic about. Except for the part where it is because he hadn't noticed and he thinks about Yato, thinks about how the Chiefs were able to pin some of the evidence on him and put things in his pocket without notice, thinks about other conversations about following his instincts or trusting someone else.

It's not a very hard decision to think of who he trusts in a situation like this. He can narrow it down to some people, and with that he sets off down the beach to find someone very specific. He's hoping Akira's not actually around because while he likes the guy, he doesn't need to tell more people than he's ready to tell. It'll come in due time. It's with this thought in mind that he knocks on the door of Raven's hut, hands jammed tightly in his pocket as he waits to see if she's home.

Alternatively, if she's not she can find him sitting on the ground outside of the door of the hut very obviously waiting for her. He's not picky for once.]

[Upon hearing the knock, she opens the door, even if it's with an air of caution. She seems like she's ready to slam it closed again at any sign of danger, but that fades slightly when she sees Hiro. Noting his body language, she tilts her head.]

What's up?

Can I talk to you about something? It's...I mean maybe it's not that important, but I've been thinking about it and I don't really know what to do about it and you seem to know what to do about stuff so...[Hiro, shut up.] Yeah. I just...Akira's not around, right?

[hydrazine]

...Yeah, of course.

[She steps back from the doorway to let him in.]

Sounds like something's going on. Fill me in.

Thanks, Raven. [And in he goes before he settles for sort of pacing back and forth.]

Okay. Do you know anything about tattoos? Or burns?

[hydrazine]

[That definitely gets her attention, even as she walks back to her bunk and takes a seat on the bed.]

...Not much about either. I'm not an artist or a doctor, but I can try to help anyways.

Okay what about...I don't know, poisons? Can poisons change or reveal pigment changes or anything? I don't know enough about that branch of chemistry to be able to tell. [Thanks for still not explaining, Hiro.]

[When he mentions poison, her eyebrows raise, and she leans forward slightly.]

Okay, before we go any further, I really want to know why you're asking me this.

[He makes a face before he digs into his pocket and hands over a note.]

I already checked. No burns, no tattoos. This thing just showed up in my pocket out of nowhere.

When's the last time you talked to the Chiefs? What did you say?

[zerotohiro]

On Saturday at the trial. [Hm.] I asked them if they could tell us if the murder was by a role and at first Pal said it was too early. So I asked if they were affected by the hallucinations and that was a no, too, since they're robots. Hal told me that killers can ask for whatever they want for a kill and receive it. He seemed to think it was stupid to get a bunch of stuff, but he didn't say there was a limitation. The example he gave was "if the killer says "I'm gonna set Josh on fire", then I give them gasoline and matches."

Which makes our line of questioning who knew what gas was seem really, really stupid if they're just going to provide stuff.

He also said that if there's a specific role to kill someone and that role killed, the role itself should be enough incentive for the murder. Everyone who has a role has a reason to perform their role, and there are multiple people in each role.

That's all I got. I wanted to ask them some other stuff this week but haven't had a chance to yet. Not before this showed up.

...I can't see why they'd do something like this, based on anything you said to them.

[Which makes her think a little harder.]

What if it was due to some kind of role?

A role putting it in my pocket? That makes a lot more sense, but I still don't know why me. Or how it got there without me noticing. All it means now is looking way closer at everyone I know and wondering if they're planning to kill me or help me. Not too different than what we're doing now, I guess.

I don't know why the killing roles choose the people they do. We probably won't ever know their reasoning... Maybe it's the same with this.

[A frown.]

Not sure how a weird tattoo could help you.

I'm pretty sure my aunt would be really mad if I actually got a tattoo, so I'm not sure either. Does anybody else on the island have a tattoo that maybe we don't know about? It's the only thing I can think of and I'm ruling it out because it is way too easy.

...but there is a girl with the last name of Rose. I don't want to think so, but it could be a problem.
