[Evacuating from his hut seemed like a wise idea when the burning maggots made an appearance and it's for that reason he's down on the beach. Then again, he has a lot on his mind. He clutches the paper in his fist inside his pocket, walking along on the sand before spotting Newt…probably looking for a bucket. It's hard to say. Either way he ends up immediately making a beeline for him and pausing a bit, suddenly unsure of what to say.]

…so. I have a new theory.

[Newt is totally looking for a bucket. He's found a lot of shovels, but no buckets so far. Argh!! His bug buddy is crawling around on his shoulder. He kept trying to stick the little guy in the pocket of his shirt, but he won't stay put, so shoulder it is.]

Oh yeah? Lay it on me.

[He's just a touch distracted, still looking up and down the beach, but he's listening.]

[He's actually content to see that Newt still has the beetle crawling around, so that's nice. But what he has to say isn't exactly sound science, so there's a short lull.]

Okay, so you know how we know the killers are apparently wandering around and doing stuff without us knowing? Like moving bodies and stuff. I don't know if it's just the killers anymore, or if all of the roles have some sort of ability that can bend reality or something. I'm sort of leaning toward a "yes" though, but I don't have a lot of solid proof. Working theory.

Working theory is still good. We don't have hard evidence for a lot of our theories. What brought this on?

Uh. [Newt reads the note over a few times before frowning and handing it back to Hiro.] Does this mean anything to you? Do you even have a burn on your arm?

No, I already checked. [This is the wrong Hamada for a bunch of burns, thank you.] And I don't know what it means. I just found it in my pocket and I know I didn't put it there. So...[Someone else did seems to be the implication here.] But maybe someone else does. Or someone else will.

That's... [He has no idea what that is.] When did you find it? Could someone have, like, slipped it in there while you were sleeping...?

Just earlier today. The only person who could have slipped it in there while I was asleep was Yona, and I really doubt she would do that instead of just telling me. Especially since I'm kind of a light sleeper now.

[Have to be! But...] Who knows how it works?

[Okay, he has to laugh a little at the thought of Yona creepily slipping this note into Hiro's pocket while he was asleep. Yeah, she wouldn't do that.]

And no one else could've snuck it in there somehow? Man, that's so weird.

They could have, but I still would have noticed. So unless there's some weird magic going on I've got nothing. But I figured it made more sense to let a few other people know what's up in case it actually does mean something.

Smart. I take it no one else has given you anything useful, either? [This is unsurprising. If Newt and Hiro can't collectively figure it out, it's a lost cause as far as he's concerned.]

I guess we'll just have to keep an eye out for any weird stuff in the days to come. Anything like what's in that note.

Nope. Just asked if I had burns on my arms or anything like that. Nothing so far from what I can tell. But if we have enough eyes out for stuff in the note it might give us a chance to plan better. That's...all I'm hoping for now.

[He nods.] Good call. I'll let you know if I notice anything weird. Maybe it'll lead to something useful in the trial, at least.

Sounds like a good plan to me. [There's a grin before he glances back toward the circle of huts.] I should go make sure Laura didn't do more property damage to my place. I'll catch up with you later?
