| JASON TODD // Vigilante Dad | Unseelie [ DC Comics ] As one of the very first people Hiro met, Jason has had a huge impact on the way Hiro views things in the Drabwurld. Jason's view on the world fascinates and scares him a little but he's come to understand a good portion of why Jason is the way he is. Despite the fact that they often butt heads and argue about Hiro's capabilities, one of Jason's main goals is to protect Hiro and make sure he survives in the war, a fact that Hiro refused to acknowledge for several months. Though usually quite blunt, Hiro appreciates Jason's ability to ground him and keep him focused on the real problems. Furthermore, even though Jason has a tendency to get under his skin and Hiro has a tendency not to listen to him, Hiro trusts him more than anybody in the whole world. Jason's opinion means more than anything even if he doesn't always agree. He's seen Jason's skills first-hand and while he knows it's more likely Jason will save him than vice versa, Jason's one of the few people he'd willingly risk his neck for...which is both a good and bad thing. LOKI // Chaos Mom | Unseelie [ Marvel 616 ] Another one that Hiro met on his first day in the Drabwurld, Loki is a chaos god and someone Hiro really, really shouldn't aspire to be and yet admires more than he should. He knows who Loki is thanks to the legends and he knows what he's dealing with but surprisingly he doesn't care about that. Curiosity often leads to him poking and questioning Loki and his methods and Loki, for the most part, is one of the few that lets him figure things out on his own while sitting back and watching from afar to make sure he doesn't completely screw up. Even though Loki is credited often as the Prince of Lies, Hiro trusts him more than most people in the Drabwurld. He's not stupid enough to trust him 100% just in case, but he has learned how to make bargains with him to ensure trust. The pair of them have things in common that they both recognize in one another and Loki is one of the few people Hiro actually feels comfortable openly talking to...most of the time. (One of the few who knows about Hiro's origin story.) |
| BILLY KAPLAN // Super Bro | Unseelie [ Marvel 616 ] Billy originally was an accident, sort of. The two of them met after the fall of Caer Scima and it was only after they started talking that they realized they had a common friend in the shape of a certain Chaos god. Despite that, Hiro's been actively working to make Billy his own friend instead of seeing Billy as a friend of Loki's and thoroughly enjoys the fact that Billy usually humors him in his overenthusiasm for everything. Billy seems to be one of the few people Hiro can talk about superhero things with and though Hiro knows some things have happened in Billy's world he seems to be the most balanced so far. Out of the unholy trinity that is Jason/Loki/Billy, Billy is the one that Hiro doesn't actively try to one-up or prove himself to. Billy sort of just lets him do what he wants to do and shares his excitement in most things. In the end? It's just nice to have a friend who gets how weird his other friends really are. (One of the few who knows pieces of Hiro's origin story.) |
LUMINA // Chaos Buddy | Unseelie [ FFXIII: Lightning's Return ] Lumina. Lumina, Lumina, Lumina. Lumina's one of the few people he's met that's not only closer to his age but also younger and that automatically piqued his curiosity. She's chaotic and vibrant and kinda weird but that makes her sort of strangely endearing. At first Hiro wasn't sure what to make of her and initially had questioned their friendship but over the course of time the two of them have been drawn closer and closer to each other. They're both aware how big and kind of scary the Drabwurld can be and especially after the fall of Caer Scima they've bonded. She keeps a spare room for him at her mansion, he heads out to the chocobo ranch and builds things for her. That's the kind of friendship they have. The best thing about Lumina though is that any time Hiro grows too serious, she's right there to knock him out of it and remind him to have some fun again. |
| CLARKE GRIFFIN // Med-Mom | Unseelie [ The 100 ] Originally Clarke started as someone who was a friend of Jason's. Jason initially asked Clarke to pop into Spire 10 over the course of the year to keep an eye on him and during those visits the two of them began to grow close. Clarke is someone Hiro will do anything for and he not only values her as a friend, he values her like family and has realized that the worst thing he could ever do is disappoint her. He doesn't know all of the terrible things she's gone through but he knows that she's kind and she's good and that's really all that matters and all he'll focus on. She reminds him greatly of not only his Aunt Cass but also there are pieces of Tadashi in her personality that he's latched onto. She's one of the very few people in the Drabwurld that he trusts himself to show any signs of weakness and he confides quite a bit in her. |
BELLAMY BLAKE // Axe-Dad | Unseelie [ The 100 ] To be frank, Bellamy used to scare the crap out of Hiro. He was big and he was tall and intimidating and dude knew how to wield a bunch of weapons. Over time though (and mostly because of Clarke) he started to grow curious and it wasn't until Bellamy started to train him that he decided the guy was okay. He recognizes that Bellamy's not only a decent teacher but he's also kind of a giant nerd. Hiro's okay with that. Like with Clarke, Hiro will do whatever he can to make sure Bellamy's taken care of, even if it just means learning how to wield a hatchet and not accidentally hurt somebody. |
| EREN YEAGER // Constant Anomaly | Unseelie [ Attack on Titan ] Hiro ran into Eren on his first day in the Drabwurld...literally ran into him while an imp attacked his shorts. After the initial reaction Eren pulled the imp off and set Hiro free and from that moment on Hiro knew Eren was somebody he had to learn more about. Even though they have completely different views on the world and even though Eren has the military background that Hiro severely lacks, the longer they talk and get to know each other the more they find they have in common after all. Hiro has taken Eren on as a sort of pet-project to bring him up to speed on what technology does and the things of his world (much to Eren's chargin.) It's hard to explain why, exactly, Eren continues to tolerate Hiro and likewise why Hiro continues to bother with Eren but without a doubt he'd consider Eren a friend. Despite the fact that Eren is sometimes too dry and a little dense in Hiro's opinion, he knows that if he really needed something, he could count on him. (He hopes.) |
THRALL // Warchief Teacher | Unseelie [ World of Warcraft ] For all intents and purposes, Hiro should be scared of Thrall, but when has Hiro ever been afraid of the things he should be? Thrall is the textbook example of not judging someone by their looks and he appreciates the fact that Thrall also doesn't judge him by his looks. Thrall is one of the people Hiro knows he can openly share his knowledge with without being afraid of boring him. They both share a love of books and of learning and though Hiro's far more impatient Thrall takes it in stride and has taken on the job of keeping Hiro on the right path as he continues to grow up. Knowing what he knows about Thrall now, Hiro's doing his best to keep up and try to share as much about his world with the orc as possible. In turn, Thrall has taught him more about the healing arts and continues to encourage Hiro's drive to better himself. (One of the few who knows pieces of Hiro's origin story.) |

| ARIADNE // Unseelie [ Inception ] Not only is Ariadne really nice, she's an architect and that alone draws Hiro to her. She understands the value of freedom and creativity and as the baroness of Spire 3 she also knows a lot about what limitations Drabwurld puts on them. She filled him in on a lot about the Seelie side when he first arrived and gave him the desire to research more. Over his time in the Drabwurld he's popped in and out of the area to check in on Ariadne and has come to not only appreciate her work but also her friendship and at this rate will do anything he can to help her out. |
SABER (Alter) // Unseelie [ Fate/Stay Night ] There are three things Hiro is certain about when it comes to Saber. One, she's surprisingly patient when she feels like it. Two, she knows exactly what she's doing. Three, it's best to never, ever get on her bad side. Though obvious that he likes Saber, moreso he respects her quite a bit (even if he did embarrass himself before realizing she was the Unseelie General.) Outside of that, he's taken great care to try and not only be there for her for certain projects, but also as a friend. He's grown somewhat fond of the Winter King. |
| KATSA // Unseelie [ Graceling Trilogy ] The lady who wanted to dye a huge wolf blue. Katsa is a woman who has taught Hiro what it means to value your freedom. She’s also taught him how to fight and she’s been his back-up in a few different instances. He’s come to respect her very much and he hopes to continue learning about her and hopefully repay her somehow for everything she’s ever taught him, both in combat and in general. |
JOHNNY STORM // Unseelie [ Fantastic Four ] Johnny's either a great influence or a terrible influence, but who isn't on the Unseelie side? The first time Hiro met Johnny face to face he threw a snowball at his face because he thought he was on fire. Upon realizing he was the Human Torch? Yeah. Since then Johnny's become another sort of older brother figure and someone that gets what the superhero thing is like. Hiro admires the work of the Fantastic Four and appreciates the fact that Johnny doesn't doubt many of his capabilities. Doesn't hurt that he's the captain of Saber's strike team and now Baron of Spire 4. |
| Yoshiya "Joshua" Kiryu //Order Papa | Seelie [ The World Ends With You ] Joshua is a strange case in the fact that Hiro has a very, very hard time believing he's from the Seelie court. The first time he ever spoke to Joshua the other boy was talking about the afterlife and quickly deduced that Hiro was asking for all the wrong reasons. After a very traumatizing sort of ordeal during Hiro's first spring in which he had to confront several of his own shortcomings, he learned that a few secrets about Joshua, including the fact that he's the Composer of the Reapers' Game (as such, Hiro’s the only one in the Drabwurld to know this secret.) He also has learned other things about Joshua that he doesn't like, things that worry him but nothing he'll act on. Joshua’s become someone that Hiro knows without a doubt he can rely on and has come to find himself telling Joshua things he’s never bothered to tell anyone else. Though he’s aware it may get him killed because Joshua’s on the opposite side of the war, he believes he knows better and trusts him almost as much as one of his Unseelie alliances. |
NICO DI ANGELO //Actual Boyfriend | Seelie [ Heroes of Olympus ] He wasn't supposed to be friends with Nico. He just...wasn't. Nico was part of the Seelie Shock Team that helped decimate Caer Scima. Nico was the one who was fighting with Lumina in the castle. And yet...Nico has somehow become one of the closest friends Hiro's ever had in his life and it both elates and terrifies him. From their very first conversation they both knew that they understood each other in a way that nobody else ever could simply because of the things they'd both experienced. Being similar in manner and mind, the pair have quickly bonded and it's come to a point where Hiro really has to think about his choices regarding the demigod. Those choices came to a head though and after over a year of knowing each other, they came to realize they shared mutually romantic feelings as well. Dating’s hard enough as it is; these two idiots chose to try it while being on opposite sides, too. |
| Leo Valdez //Flame-bro | Seelie [ Heroes of Olympus ] Leo initially started out as somebody Hiro wasn't sure how to approach because they also have similarities that are hard to ignore, what with their flame powers and the losses they've faced in their lives. For a long time, Hiro resisted really befriending Leo and kept his cards close to his chest knowing that the other boy was Seelie. But there are just some things that happen that help you forge a friendship. You know, things like fixing a heater at the Station and planning a bunch of hidden clubs under the monarchs' noses. No big deal. He appreciates Leo's sense of humor at least and it's nice to have somebody else who knows how valuable the art of creation and building really is. However, Hiro knows he has to be careful with Leo. Who knows what he’ll do? |
MERIDA //Slayer Mama | Seelie [ Brave ] Merida's an interesting case for Hiro, if only because when he first met her she was on the Unseelie side of things and he learned she was a princess. Now that she's been home and come back she's switched courts and though that's troublesome, Hiro's come to find that it really doesn't matter that much. More than anything he respects Merida and has noticed that he's fairly comfortable talking to her even about more personal subjects such as fate and what the heart believes. He's slowly learning more about her story and she's learning his, too. She's also promised to teach him some more survival skills, believing that he won't last without them. It's probably true. (Someday it will occur to him that she reminds him a little of his Aunt Cass.) |
| RIN TOHSAKA // Unseelie [ Fate/Stay Night ] Man he doesn't even know other than Rin challenges his authority and he doesn't know how to feel about that. Close to Saber. Contractor for R&D. Not bad once you get to know her, but that’s a long process in and of itself. He thinks he likes Rin enough and he’s not sure how she feels about him most of the time, but he’ll tentatively call her an ally for sure. |
GRELL SUTCLIFFE //Unseelie [ Black Butler ] Lady of Mair and a death god, someone that Hiro admires immensely and has decided to serve at any cost. Hiro met Grell while he was on a mission for the Black Shuck and she taught him several things to aid him on his journey. Since then he’s taken to keeping an eye on Grell and helping her when he can (especially thanks to the fall of Mair.) He’s offered his services to her for anything that she may need and he trusts that she’ll help him stay out of trouble for any of those purposes. Also determined to teach her more things about his world. |

THOR [ Unseelie ] [ Marvel 616 ] Son of Odin, actual Asgardian god, brother of Loki. Left quite an impression on Hiro and will probably find himself with a tiny teenager constantly asking questions and/or trying to lift Mjolnir. [ journal ] |
YURI LOWELL [ Unseelie ] [ Tales of Vesperia ] So. Cool. No really, he’s actually pretty cool. Hiro likes Yuri’s attitude and he likes the fact that Yuri takes him seriously. He’s gung-ho to assist him however he can (and he’s way too enthusiastic about seeing how the blastia works.) [ journal ] |
LIGHTNING [ Unseelie ] [ FFXIII: LR ] Someone who inspired hope in Hiro when he was feeling a little less than hopeful, she’s someone else that Hiro’s hoping to help however he can and someone he believes will somehow be a revolutionary to the Unseelie court. And somehow related to Lumina? Yeah, he’ll need more details on that. [ journal ] |

JOHN GRIMM [ Shardless ] [Doom] "Why are you so calm about dying?": The Life Story. Hiro met John one day while he was wandering around seeking the Black Shuck. Guess meeting his son is just as good. John provided him with some insight to things and he's hoping to eventually find him and speak with him again. [ journal ] |
TERESA [ Unseelie ] [ The Maze Runner Trilogy ] Technology dork and obviously perfectly acceptable in Hiro's book. Oh. And has the freaky telepathy thing which is pretty neat. [ journal ] |
