Aside from the fact that we can't get rid of them? I think there's a pretty good chance they might be embedded with the same tech as the books. They don't seem to be affecting anyone's personalities... yet. Anyway, it can't hurt to check.

I plan to go back, if only for that, and to keep an eye on the animals, if they can get them back in those poorly-made pens.

Like most things on this planet, I don't trust it at all. I'll be going back tomorrow and the next day, too, to keep an eye out. I'll try to pick up one of the masks myself.

I couldn't agree more. I don't like what they did with those animals at all. It reminded me too much of the jungle. They can string me up as a prize all they want, but I draw the line at risking everyone's safety.

[ It takes him about 20 minutes, all told, just because he's not in a rush. It's nice to be back in normal clothes, even if he didn't mind his earlier outfit...

[He doesn't respond to that text and while he could use that 20 minutes to clean up a little...he doesn't. He just goes right back to what he was doing and when Yu knocks on the door he answers it wearing a pair of black thicker-framed glasses and holding an un-open cup of noodles.]

[When Hiro arrives on the scene, he will be greeted with the twisted, unrelenting horror that is... a park bench. With Weiss sitting on it. She doesn't look particularly happy, no, but considering what she had imagined herself doing when she first heard about this news? This isn't so bad.

Weiss shades herself under a floppy white hat adorned with white flowers, her eyes blocked by small circular sunglasses. When she spots Hiro, her blank expression doesn't change. She hardly even turns her head to acknowledge him.]

[Let's be real, he's kind of afraid of sitting next to her. He's more afraid of what she'll do if he says no though and for the first time in his life he actually feels a little embarrassed by the fact he's in his usual cargo shorts and hoodie. He'd been in the middle of a project when Weiss texted him and it's incredibly clear that he dropped everything to meet with her, judging by some of the pencil smudges on his hands and the fact that his undershirt's starting to untuck from the waistband of his shorts. He's careful not to trip over his untied shoelace as he sits on the bench next to her, turning to stare at her quietly.

The bright side is that they're in public. She wouldn't dare kill him in broad daylight. (Hopefully.)]
