[He's still 100% convinced she's just playing along and teasing him, not that he's...actually, quite possibly, invisible. He laughs from somewhere up ahead but he's walking slow enough that she can follow his footsteps.] We're going to the armoury. I wanna check something out.
[And since he has her hairclip, she has to come. Logic. There's a small sound as he hums in thought.] Honey Lemon. She's a friend from home...I met her a little while before I came here. She's a chemist and she's actually really nice. She's part of my team now.
[It's occurred to him that maybe he hasn't told Lumina enough about himself either...but whatever, their friendship's been fine without sharing things. Right? Right.]
[Would she do something like that to him? Well. Yes. Yes she would. It would be hilarious. But after a moment she falls into step behind him, though it's hard to say if she's following him or his footsteps.]
[He's pretty set on what he thinks and he's pretty determined to prove her wrong and point out that she is, in fact, just teasing him like usual. But even as they move he can at least answer her question.]
...you asked me a long time ago if I was a hero just because my name's Hiro. I guess I just forgot to tell you that the answer's "yes." [There's a sheepish smile.] Me and five of my friends. We make up a team of superheroes back home to keep our city safe. It's just something we started doing really recently. Like maybe a week or two before I got here. So...it's been a year and a half since I've seen any of them, but I'm kinda glad none of them have been dragged here.
I never really meant to keep it a secret. I guess I just sorta forgot who knew and who didn't. [The question is a complicated one though and for a while all she'll hear is the sound of his footsteps. Eventually though, an answer comes.]
Because I miss them. I know it's kinda dumb but if I don't think about them I can't miss them very much so I can focus on the stuff going on here. [He recognizes that it's the same way he handled Tadashi's death and that it's not healthy but oh well.] Does it bother you that I've never told you?
[She skips ahead suddenly, bumping into his arm as she passes...maybe she could see him? Was it all a trick!? She stopped a bit ahead and twisted around, waiting for him to pass her again.]
But you know, when you miss someone, talking about them could help. Trust me.
[Goddamnit Lumina. They're closer to the armoury now and he picks up his pace to keep up with her, bypassing her and turning to walk backwards.]
How about when you don't know where to start? [He shrugs.] It's fine, I write it down and sometimes I'll talk about home and that's good enough. [He shakes his head.] Anyway this isn't about that, this is about your invisibility hair clip and testing it out, remember?
[He shakes his head, realizing it's kinda useless to argue with her. It's Lumina. Usually he loses those arguments.]
...whatever. I promise it's not that interesting. [A beat.] They were my brother's friends first. Tadashi tricked me into visiting his university one night and that's how I met everybody and decided I wanted to apply there. Then some things happened and we...[We what, Hiro?] Let's just say we had to team up for a huge project and just kept going. We saved the city and realized that we were the only ones who could help. That's all.
[He doesn't have as hard of a time talking about his life now as he did when he first arrived...but it's Lumina. He knows they sort of rely on each other to keep things fun and light and...he's pretty sure neither of their stories are light at all.]
I wouldn't call it a gang. But sure. A good gang. [There's a pause in his speech as they finally enter the armoury and he walks toward the back where he knows the shields are. They would be the most reflective.]
People were starting to call us Big Hero 6. They took it seriously enough.
Of course I'm checking to see if you're lying. It wouldn't be the first time.
[He watches her whirl away and reappear before shaking his head and picking up one of the shields, glancing to see what he sees...did it work? Did it not work? He has to know. Even so though he has to ask.]
Why not just make a team here? You've got friends, don't you?
[There's a sound of surprise upon noticing that nope, he sure isn't there.]
Whoa. [Wait, what were you saying Lumina?] What? Oh. I don't know, work with them? Spend time with them? That's usually what teams do. And how old is old? Like as old as some of my friends are?
No, I meant our friends from back home. [He's just going to reach up though and finally take the clip out of his hair. His bangs sweep back over his forehead and he becomes fully visible again, holding the clip out to her.] What about them?

You had a team?
[This is the first she is hearing of a team.]

So home come you've never mentioned any of these people before?

Well it was about that, but now we seem to be talking about you, huh.

Did you have a tough gang name? So everyone knew to take you seriously?

People were starting to call us Big Hero 6. They took it seriously enough.

Looking to see if I'm lying, huh Hero?
[She giggles as they enter, getting caught up in a swirl of energy and reappearing perched on one of the higher shield shelves.]

I don't know. What would I do with a team?
Plus most of my friends are old.

Well, yeah. I mean, a lot of my friends and your friends are the same people.
