[Lucky for both of them Hiro's not in the bathroom. He's in his-formerly-known-as-Tadashi's bedroom laying sprawled out on the bed. He'd fallen asleep face-down on some notes but Tadashi wakes him up immediately. He flails a little, papers crinkling and one of them sticking to the side of his face as he sits up in alarm to stare at Tadashi.]

What? What is it? [He'd been panicked at first, but then he gets a look at Tadashi's face and recognizes that look. That's not "Hiro I'm freaking out", that's "Hiro I just accomplished something awesome."]

It works! He works!

[ he immediately fishes out his cerevice and rushes to hiro's side, flashing the screen incredibly close to his brother's face. he's just that excited. but at least he hasn't picked hiro up yet and kissed him... or kiss baymax. that's just how embarrassing tadashi can be when he's excited. ]

The dragon flies!

[Please don't, Tadashi, he's not awake enough for your spontaneous victory dance and kissing. He's taking the CereVice though and holding it close to his face to watch the screen. He's watching the video, and that's about the time he really starts to wake up. There's an audible little gasp as he watches the dragon take flight, eyes glued to the screen as he takes in everything. There's even more surprise when he sees the thing breathing ice and he grins suddenly. When the video stops, he looks up and he's absolutely beaming.]

Dude...he works. [Holy crap. Okay....okay! He's suddenly just as excited as Tadashi is and he's even replaying the video again.] I can't believe you got him up in the air. And you used my ice idea? This is awesome.

[Squinting.] Wait, who's that? [That does not look like Hawke.]

That definitely caught her by surprise!

It was a pretty quick test, but I'm proud of how it performed. [ and here comes the conversation hiro probably never wanted. ] So, do you think I should give it a name?

[ why...... ]

Oh, and the one who fought the dragon is Adelina. She mentioned slaying dragons in her world before, and she was looking for a sparring partner, so I figured why the heck not. [ he laughs, shrugging his shoulders. ] I'll let Hawke know that the dragon's done soon.

[Jack is sounding his real age, time talk can get him like that. And Hiro can inch away, that's what the chocolate is for! When he explains what he doing, Jack takes a closer look at the desk, trying to understand anything of what's on it.]

I don't get sick at home, but I don't do a lot of things there that Ceres pulls here anyway. [He sounds frustrated and a bit angry at that, but the frown that appears barely lasts, being replaced with that gentle older brother expression that goes with the ruffling of Hiro's hair.] Good too see you're ok though, I thought I wouldn't find anyone out of bed today.

Told you it was a good idea. [Give him a moment to be proud of himself...but then his expression falls flat.] I think it should have a name, yeah, but I don't know if you should be the one naming it. Just sayin'.

[He tilts his head curiously, not recognizing the name.] Adelina...haven't met her. She's like a knight or what? [It doesn't matter because he stops the video, grinning up at Tadashi and obviously very pleased with the progress.] Man, think of what else we can build now that you completed this thing. That didn't take as long as I thought it would take you.

[ what??? but tadashi can't even contest to that. please stop him. ]

[ just for that, you're getting flicked on the forehead. rudeass punk. though he does calm down when hiro proceeds to talk about adelina. ]

I'm not sure, to be honest. Her place looks like a castle, so she's probably a princess. [ and she talks like she's a royal, too. it's so cool. ]

Though, trust me, it took far too long to get this done. I'm really glad it works. Thanks for helping me out, bro.

[There's a slight pause on the other end of the line before she answers, which is already an answer in and of itself.]

Nope. Does it have something to do with our..."code"? The level of technology in Glenwood isn't even half as capable as the technology here, so this "code" stuff isn't something we're familiar with.

I guess I never really thought about it before since things are usually pretty safe back home. Well. Safe-ish. And we're in charge of protecting our city and keeping the peace but I wouldn't call that soldiering or anything. Still...kinda makes you wonder what would happen if the same sort of troops formally formed here. Think it's possible?

Uh huh. A couple of my friends told me that the last time the ghosts were in the colony they were messing with everybody's senses. Some people went blind, and some people had their bodies taken from them. That was a couple of months before either of us were here. If the seal really works? There's nothing else we need to do, no. And with the people who helped with the seal it should be solid for a really, really long time.

There's still a lot of stuff we probably don't know either. Trust me, you're not the last to find out.

[So he pops a piece of candy into his mouth, and he allows Jack to try and make sense of his notes. It's mostly a list of names and symptoms and possibilities, nothing that's really too remarkably helpful just yet.]

You're not the only one. [Not himself, of course, but Tadashi. Even if Jack doesn't know that yet. He doesn't like that CERES keeps messing with his friends and he's scowling at his notes before registering that Jack's ruffling his hair. He grins slightly, ducking his head and nodding.] Tadashi and I both managed to avoid whatever's going around. That's what bugs me. I don't know what the pattern is yet.

[Jack you're lucky Hiro's still up. The response comes almost immediately.]

...dunno, Jack. Why'd the robot go back to robot school?

[In another context he would wonder if Hiro is having nightmares or something. Right now though, he needs entertainment.]

[Ow??? He wrinkles his nose a little and swats at Tadashi's hand, a small annoyed sound of protest in response. It's not his fault your naming scheme is kinda stupid. But sure, let's talk about Adelina.]

I've never met a princess before. [Well, besides Leia and that doesn't count since she's actually a general and stuff now and what-have-you.] What's she like?

[Tell him about your new friends, Tadashi, he's nosy. As usual.] It took a while to find a lot of the parts didn't it? I've been running into a ton of the same issues on some of my projects, too. Lack of parts or some parts were way too expensive and then engineering them to work just right...it's way harder here than it is at home. [But he stops rambling when Tadashi thanks him, pausing just to watch him carefully before grinning again.] ...you know one of my favorite things has always been inventing stuff with you, don't you? [That is to say yes he's an arrogant little shit who loves to tease the crap out of his brother, but there's no reason to thank him for stuff like this.]

Test that theory and see how that works out for you. And maybe not, but my team's not here and I don't want to drag my new friends into being a new team. I dragged my friends from home into being heroes in the first place. [Because why not? Clearly that's what every 14 year old should be doing.] I've got help back home and...I've got Baymax here, and maybe a couple of other friends who know what they're doing. Doesn't that count for something?

It's got everything to do with our code. The Nexus is where all of our data is stored and stuff and where CERES keeps us if they decide our code is corrupted or incomplete. They send people there when something's not working right inside the colony. Sometimes people come back right away. Sometimes they don't. According to Mosley my brother and I were both here before and sent back to the Nexus to be fixed before we came back a couple of months ago. I don't remember any of that, but other people have told me that we were both here before.

It's...creepy. I've seen pictures of the inside of the Nexus. People are just hanging there waiting to be rebooted basically. That could be where Sorey is, especially if he's no longer registering as being in the colony.

[It's that and Hiro overworking himself on a project but what else is new? Still, he's happy to provide this kind of entertainment.]

[ mostly because one of tadashi's hobbies includes bragging about his genius younger bro.

also wow??? way to punch him right where it hurts. one of tadashi's proudest moments is working with hiro, too. but that's pretty much impossible now (excluding their time in cerealia). tadashi took that away from hiro with his selflessness, which tadashi now thinks was pretty selfish of him. his goal was to always keep hiro happy, but maybe that's somebody else's job now.

his smile wavers, but he still puts a soft one nonetheless. this is the least he can do. ]

Thanks, Hiro. We'll— [ "continue making stuff together" is what he wants to say, but he knows that's just going to get the boy's hopes up. ] —Let's continue doing our best.

[There's an even longer pause this time as she tries to take all that information in. What she's really understanding from all that is that Sorey's possibly stuck somewhere, hanging somewhere lifelessly, just waiting to be "rebooted" (she's guessing that it means something close to reawakening)]

...How do we get there.

[It's not a question so much as a demand.]

You told her about me? [He's only partially surprised. The Hamadas apparently brag about each other to all of their friends. Except now he's making it a mission to meet Adelina and make sure Tadashi didn't say anything too embarrassing.] I'll let you know when I meet her.

[He knows what that pause means, bro. His own grin fades a little like he's just now realizing that fact himself. This is all temporary. None of this can happen when they go home. Not until Hiro finds a way to save Tadashi's code and bring him home. He doesn't like thinking about it. He hates thinking about the fact that their time's limited and that this is probably going to do damage for both of them in the long run. Tadashi's right that it's getting Hiro's hopes up but why isn't he allowed to be selfish about this?

But he's not going to say any of that to Tadashi and he nods.] For sure. We'll do a lot of cool stuff here. Colony won't know what hit 'em. [...fistbump?]

[ somehow, the invitation to bump fists makes tadashi miles better than how he was just a couple of seconds ago. thanks, bro. you're a good kid. bah-la-la-la-la!!

So when are we going to do that ViViD thing you mentioned? The one with Ruby and Yang?

[ tadashi's barely cocky, but he can't help but want to impress his brother. SHUT UP OKAY. we won't talk about this in the morning o9!! ] I don't think you've seen the new thing I made for myself yet.

That sounds a lot scarier than anything I faced in the Digital World. I really don't want my b-body taken away and have them do whatever they want to me! Let's just hope it stays that way for good!

T-Then maybe if we can figure out how Patamon can evolve into Angemon? Maybe we can help out with a bunch of stuff?
