[Rei responds with a simple nodding emoji, which should probably be indicative that it's okay. And that she feels both sad and bad about disturbing cleaNing.
[Lucky for Rei it's Hiro that answers the door and...he looks a little more normal than he did the last time she was at his apartment. He's grinning slightly, Baymax puttering around in the background helping him assess the damage and he steps aside to let her in.]
Hey. I think we're actually making some progress...the apartment's violating pretty much all of Baymax's healthcodes so he's been freaking out.
It is not "freaking out" to worry for your safety.
[Rei has a small box under her arm when she arrives, and once the door opens she waves to Baymax and then Hiro. Nothing too cheerful, but Rei seems pretty calm, all in all.]
Thanks.
[Stepping inside she surveys the carnage, but honestly she can't talk. her own kitchen is as much a wreck.]
Sorry, for being a bother. But there's two little things that I wanted to talk about. First is simplest. Makoto's already gone to the Nexus Code. She wasn't even here two weeks.
[Which was unusual, and while it bothered Rei, it was better not to have to involve the sweet, caring girl any further.]
[He tilts his head curiously, trying to figure out if he's met Makoto. To be perfectly fair he's made himself fairly scarce lately. The mourning period was long this time and he's starting to work himself out, at least. So he shakes his head.]
I don't think so. But it's weird, isn't it? That happened with Wasabi, too, when I first got here. [He's clearing a path for her at least and also making room on a couch for her. It's the least he can do.]
Still. Sorry to hear that. [Settling on another clean part of the couch, he eyes the box in Rei's arms. While he knows losing friends is sad, he's clearly more interested in that.] What's the second thing?
[She shrugs and brushes off the awkward feelings about the missing gas giantess, walking over to take a seat on the couch.
And then opens the box to show the deactivated Cybuddy.]
Lacus isnt waking up, like all the other robots. It may sound silly, but I was hoping you could build him a functional body. Possibly take out his memory chip...and bring him back?
[There's an uncomfortable lilt to her words, like asking this is costing her something. She hates admitting she's attached to something from CERES, but she is. The little robot had been a friend, and thinking of it just laying there motionless hurts.]
[Out of everything he was expecting from Rei, it wasn't this. He looks down into the box, fingers resting lightly on the edge and he appears pensive. He can't fault her for asking though. After all, didn't he struggle for a while to bring Baymax back? This...honestly, he's the best person to ask because he understands more than anything and he nods slowly, prying the box from her hands.]
Don't pay me. [It's said quietly, like it's a silly thing to consider.] This shouldn't be too bad. Tadashi's old workshop has all of the plans for building CyBuddies...I bet I can make him good as new and transplant all of his memories. Just like Baymax. It might take a little bit but I'll do my best.
[She lets go, just a little bit reluctant, but nods in the end. She knows that he won't accept payment, but she's going to anyway. With food, and drinks, and those little things that aren't money but she has in abundance. And for what it did cost her, she also believed in him, at least enough to smile.]
I would really appreciate that. Thank you, Hiro. I know it's just silly, but, well...you know...
[Awkwardly she gestures over towards Baymax.]
After a while they stop being just things. They become a part of your home.
It's not silly at all. [He's also glancing at Baymax, smiling a bit as he observes his brobot briefly.] I'm not just saying it when I call Baymax my best friend. He's still the best friend I've ever had. And anyway, you've had this guy for a really long time...it'd be a little weird if you didn't miss him at all. I promise I'll do my best to bring him back.
Watch out. I heard laptops were the next step after that. [It's nice to be able to tease her a little bit even if he's cradling the box in his lap.] Is there anything I can do to him that might make him a little better for you?
[He can't help but laugh a little incredulously.] How have we been friends this long? [But it's a joke and he can appreciate that Rei's not into this kind of stuff. It's nice to have varying interests, the power of friendship, etcetc. However...he seems to contemplate on that.]
I could probably make a self-cleaning kind of protectant sealant around him? It's a thought but that might be aiming a little too high. Worth a shot though.
[She laughs faintly, waving off the comment to focus on the business at hand. Rude, little brother.]
If you can manage it, that would be nice. I don't expect it though, since I know it's fairly complicated. He just...fusses...when he gets dirty and I hate bathing him.
Mochi doesn't like it either. [Because cats, apparently.] I'll figure something out. You know me. [He likes upgrades and it'll keep him busy.] I'll try not to take too long though...I know you're anxious to get him back.

I don't know if you guys really met, though.

It hit me pretty hard, all of this. Heh. I guess...I'm getting used to machines after all. If I'm not careful, I might buy a television set.

And no, unless you can somehow make his fur clean itself. That feels a bit like a pipe dream, though.

Thank you, for indulging me.

Personally I think this is indulging both of us. Don't even worry about it. I promise I'll be fast.
