[She barely has to knock before the door flings open and Hiro's hand wraps around her wrist to drag her into the apartment, shutting the door behind them. It's pretty quiet inside even with Baymax puttering around in one of the rooms. Sleeping on the back of the couch is a fat calico cat and Hiro has papers and half-started projects spread out on the floor by the couch.]
Okay, before we start is this a good thing or a bad thing?
[Korra surveys the somewhat-familiar apartment again, petting the cat absentmindedly as she sits on the couch.]
It's a ...I'm not sure what's going on thing. I've been going around the districts and checking for anything weird, and I think I found something. They look like shrines of some kind.
I sensed something from them. [Since Hiro already knows she's the Avatar, Korra answers his questions easily.] That's why I was able to figure out where they were after I poked around a little.
And well... you heard that voice in your head a couple days ago? The one that said CERES took something from them. I think the shrines are for them and the others like them.
Makes sense, as much as I don't want it to make sense. I'm liking CERES less and less lately. [There's a short pause.] Think we should check out the shrines and see if we can pick up any more clues?
Yup. They aren't the friendliest spirits ever--or whatever they are--but maybe they'll be willing to tell us more.
[Korra purses her lips in thought.]
I think we should bring some fruit or something as offerings. The one associated with water kept telling me to be more respectful--we're going to have to play nice with them.
If they're spirits, what are they going to do with fruit? It's not like they can eat it. [Hiro. But he sighs, running a hand through his hair.] But the last thing we wanna do is piss 'em off further, you're right. You and I can probably carry enough supplies to hit up a couple of shrines. Whose do we want to go to first?
Eat them? [Korra shrugs.] Some of the spirits back home liked fruit. [Though technically she hasn't seen it with her own eyes, she does remember the oasis spirits Wan stayed with.
She sighs.]
I think I can handle the water one. He's temperamental, but seems okay with me because I'm a waterbender back home. Do you think we should split up and hit two of the shrines each?
That might save us a lot of time, but...[He trails off, trying to think of how to eloquently phrase the fact that he might just piss off a couple of the spirits.] Maybe I should come with you to the water shrine first, just to see how it's done. Then I can probably visit the air one.
That could work. [Admittedly, she didn't get along fabulously with the water spirit, but she is so not taking responsibility for that.]
Let's hope they're up for chatting or...talking to any of us. [Korra pauses, though her hand still drifts over Mochi's back.] He kept calling us "stolen things". Am I the only one not liking the way this sounds?
If not, then we just try something else to appeal to them or whatever. [He frowns heavily then, shaking his head but completely agreeing.]
What I wanna know is if we're stolen things, are we stolen from our worlds, CERES, or something else? They weren't really fans of giving straight answers even though they were still answers. There's something we're missing here...I just hope the spirits will give us a little more info now that they're around.
[Korra's eyes meet his, worried, before she looks away again.]
Considering how much we trust CERES right now, I'm thinking they're the ones doing the stealing. No one even knows if the Flamines are real. If they're not, then what are we even doing here?
I don't know. Our first step is probably to figure out where the Flamines story came from and decide if they're real or not. Once we know that, we can go from there. [A beat.] Let's start visiting shrines and see what we can do.

Remember what I said about emoticons? We'll go over that later.
I'm home. What's going on? Where are YOU?
text
I'm heading back to my apartment now. Found something I want to talk to you about. Mind if I come over?
text
Yeah, absolutely. You know where Tadashi's apartment is, right? I'm still there. Just knock when you get here and I'll let you in.

[Anddd sure enough, there's a knock at the door not too long after she sent the last text.]

Shrines? [That's new.] Shrines for who? I haven't found anything and Baymax and I have been patrolling on and off lately.

Alright. Let's stop by the market and pick up the offerings first.
