Ok so consider like...BUBBLE WEAPONS

Theres someone here who has these bubbles and theyre really really hard to pop! Practically indestructible so long as you dont like try to pop them from two different places at once. They could totally be useful for all sorts of things!!

And Keimi said shed be willing to help out with it and try to see what i can do so i wanted to know what you thought!

[There's a short pause.

[Maybe it's a telling sign when he doesn't answer back immediately. Or maybe it's just Hiro being Hiro and sometimes texting requires pulling him away from whatever he's doing. It's hard to tell but he reads it immediately even if he doesn't respond right away. So there's a short amount of time before he does respond, maybe something in the neighborhood of ten minutes.]

Hey. [Smooth, Hiro.] Bubble weapons sound kinda cool, but how do the bubbles work if they're pretty much indestructible? And who's Keimi?

[It's probably Hiro being Hiro. Either way, she almost forgot that she spammed him, having gotten distracted poking around something on her own--but upon seeing the response, she grins.]

Keimi's the one who can make the bubbles! Shes a mermaid and she said that so long as you dont try to pop them from two sides at once, they wont pop! Pretty cool right?

A mermaid? Like with a tail and everything? [That's a dumb question.] That's REALLY cool...we could make like bubble guns or shields or something. I'd have to study the physics of them and how they move and how Keimi makes them before we start drafting up prototypes of anything, but it sounds cool. Totally unexpected. Unless you're just texting me to tell me what you're up to.

But yeah, she had a tail and everything! The bubble was how she got around on land in the jungle, it floated and she sat on it, and she gave me one too!! I mean it didnt last when we ended up in the mountains but it was still pretty cool

I didn't know we had mermaids here and I didn't know there were mermaids that could make transportation bubbles. How sick would that be if we could replicate something like that? Something stronger though so it survives other elements.

[Good. It actually does give her a bit of a warm fuzzy feeling when he says he wants to see what she ends up working on; she smiles at that, before responding.]

Not really! Im not doing much. I mean, it's not like work is open again yet or anything so i was kind of just moseying around, you know how it is!

[Because everything is terrible and he could use the distraction momentarily. Things with Tadashi are weird, but that's not something he can tell Ruby, so...]

It's cool, it's not like I'm laughing at you on my end of the line or anything. [It's meant to be a sarcastic quip but those are hard via text. Even if he's not laughing though he does find himself grinning at the thought.]

Even if the shop's not open we can probably use Tadashi's workshop for a little while, right? You guys have to have keys to get into the place.

[Wait why is he using exclamation marks. Ugh Ruby stop rubbing off on him. But whatever. He's just going to stop overthinking it and grab his backpack, grab what he needs and check that Tadashi's still napping before slipping out and heading for the shop, leaning against the door when he gets there and waiting for Ruby to arrive.

Either way, she'll pop up a moment later, jogging down the street with a notebook under her arm and her CereVice in her other.]

[She waves as she approaches--perfect distraction. Not that Ruby needs a distraction, but she's starting to get that Hiro does, and that much she can provide.

So even as she moves to unlock the door--]

Sooo...what're we doing today?

[The door accepts her credentials, unlocking with a cheerful jingle.]

[He looks up from his feet, watching her approach and grinning in response before using a foot to launch himself off of the door and step away. Hiking his backpack up higher on his shoulder he glances up at the door as though wondering where the sound came from and following her inside.]

I want to start looking for some materials so I can build a portable battery for Baymax. Plus I want to show you some other stuff. [He gestures to the backpack with his head. It's nice that Ruby's not asking hard questions. He's well aware he probably looks like he just woke up but he also trusts Ruby not to call him on it. It's…a little weird still, knowing how much she knows and knowing he told her on purpose. He recalls that he made a promise to Yang, too, but…now's not a good time. Maybe in the next never. He seems to know where he's going as he takes the lead and heads for Tadashi's workshop, still talking over his shoulder.]

Soooo I was thinking...I want to start building weapons, too. I had one of Tadashi's gloves in the jungle but I don't have anything of my own. Probably should fix that if we ever go back out there, huh?

I like stuff.

[That's just an offhand comment as she follows him in, though, glancing around idly. It's nice to see everything back in its proper place after everything that's happened recently; she can't deny that as fun as monster hunting in the jungle and mountains was, she missed just getting to tinker in here.

For now, Hiro is off the hook when it comes to personal questions, because she's perfectly distracted by stuff and weapons.

Heheh, yeah. I mean, it's kind of funny that it took you this long to build one, but I guess not everyone builds a weapon at school. I guess. [Baymax is great, but Hiro needs something..... he can bring with him. She loves weapons, though, so she'll happily swing around to grin at him.]

What are you thinking of making?

[That snort of amusement was definitely Ruby's imagination. He's busy flipping on lights and powering on some things in the workshop, completely at ease and more than comfortable. Labs and workshops are like a second home to him, moreso when they belong to someone he care about a lot. He's careful not to disturb anything and he's almost impressed that the robots managed to put everything back exactly as it was. He's flinging his backpack up onto a workbench then, also grabbing a stepstool so he can step up and hover over it.]

What can I say? I've been a little distracted with stuff. Besides, I build cooler stuff at school. [None of that's really a lie. Baymax has always been with him though. Maybe he took advantage of that. Even as he answers her he's rooting through his bag.]

I've got a couple of ideas. [And suddenly he perks up a tiny bit.] Tadashi and I are going to start designing some new gear when he comes back to work. I just want to make sure we're actually going to make something really cool…but I'm thinking like a sword or something? Something really solid.

[And finally he seems to have found what he was digging for, but he doesn't take it out of the bag. Instead, he turns to look at her again with a smug little grin.] Before that though…I think I promised to show you Megabot, didn't I? [There's a reason he's bringing this up now. They do tie into each other, even if Ruby doesn't know it yet.]

[She has to solemnly disagree with that one, okay, pursing her lips in response, even as she sets her notebook aside to trail after him curiously. She can't peer over his shoulder when he's like that, but she can look up at him curiously.]

There is no cooler stuff than weapons.

But either way, she's right back to thoughtful and engaged a brief moment later, eyes lighting up.]

Swords are good though! Classic, very vintage, can't go wrong with swords. [Naturally, it'll also have to shoot things, because every weapon must also be a gun.]

That's right though! You said you were going to show him to me--is he here? [She wants to see in the bag!!! Stop being so dramatic, Hiro!]

I can probably think of something cooler than weapons. [An argument for the sake of an argument.

Ruby, Ruby, Ruby. Asking Hiro not to be dramatic is sometimes like asking the sky not to be blue or whatever. He likes the element of suspense (when it's not being used against him.) And maybe he just likes the fact that he's holding out on her and that she wants to know. It's always nice to have someone interested in your work. He doesn't say anything on the swords but he nods before he finally pulls his hand out of the bag…and revealing the tiny, kinda dorky-looking robot. He holds him out for Ruby to take, still very pleased with himself.]

This is Megabot. [Go ahead. Say it. He'll wait. His other hand is digging in the bag for a moment, but he's waiting for Ruby to make a first examination of him.] He took a really, really long time to get right.
