Harsh, my friend. But you wouldn't be the first. Anyway Mochi's usually unhappy when we stick him in costumes or if I put the rocket boots on him wrong. He'll get used to it someday though.
Coughing fit, huh? Dumb question but you've taken medicine for it already haven't you?
[He's a tiny bit suspicious just based on some of the other conversations he's had with people lately.]
Why is everybody always so surprised to hear that??? Yes, rocket boots. I made Mochi into a hover cat a few months ago before I got here. I think he kinda likes it.
Hey, I'm just checking. I'm usually the little brother in these scenarios. Besides...I'm starting to wonder if this is more than that.
[Tenka...plz. He can't see it because it's text but there's definitely a snort of amusement on Hiro's end of the line.]
I probably COULD, but you might have to deal with the wrath of my actual "aniki." He wasn't too happy the first time I made Mochi fly. I'm not sure how he'd react to a person.
That's exactly what I mean though. You don't think it's suspicious at all?
It's good enough for me. Should be good enough for everybody else.
I'm trying to figure out if it's because of the types of books people read in the library or what, but so far the patterns aren't making any sense to me either. Do you know anybody else who's come down with something recently?
definitely good enough for me!! so i'm gonna put you in charge of project: get ten-nii to fly!!!
[god he's so proud of this idea -- it'll probably end in actual flames]
in my house?? me and kousetsu-san. he's a sword spirit! bunch of other sword spirits down the hallway have come down with something. phoenix-kun says that some of his kids have gotten sick too..... and so have some of mine!
[though even Tenka can't think of a pattern between all of those. they're all pure of heart but tenka thinks a lot of people are pure of heart they just don't show it]
Haha, you got it! I could probably rig up some rocket boots for you in a couple of weeks with the right parts. Mochi's took a couple of months to perfect and I think your feet are bigger than my cat's.
More sword spirits? A friend told me about them, too. I didn't realize they were being affected. And I didn't know you had kids. Like. Actual kids? I mean whatever that doesn't actually matter unless they've all got something in common. A couple of my friends have come down with it, too, and I'm not finding the pattern fast enough.
are you calling me fat? fatter than your fat cat?!
[NO HE'S JOKING...... he's laughing into his pillow, god. someone stop this]
well they're like my little brothers and sisters so they might as well be my kids, right?? [that's totally how family works] hey settle down though hiro-kun, it's not your job to save the world. there're people here to help you too
[Tenka's another person he feels like he can joke with without offending him. It's nice, at least.]
I don't think that. You know what. Sure. I mean…Tadashi kinda helped Aunt Cass raise me after mom and dad died so that sorta makes sense. And who says it's not my job? I'm a superhero, Tenka. It's sorta in the description.
[SASS SASS SASS, can you tell that he has two brothers....
Though the reveal that Hiro's mom and dad passed away surprises Tenka a little bit. this kid is really casual about it, huh.... a lot more casual than Tenka can be, even now. he's really more mature than he looks.]
sounds to me like you were raised well. [just a minor note of respect, to both Aunt Cass and Tadashi] not sure what a superhero is........ but i doubt it means youve gotta go it all alone, kiddo
Hey, I make that work to my advantage. Not my fault you can't. [That's what makes this conversation easy, he thinks. It's a little like talking to Tadashi or Yang, people who have younger siblings tend to have a different way of treating him and he doesn't mind in the slightest.
He doesn't know what Tenka's thinking, but he can agree with that.] Yeah…they're the best. Sometimes Aunt Cass doesn't know what to do with us but we're figuring it out. [Especially now that it's just the two of them, but he's not saying that either.] Maybe not, but it means that I CAN and I'll make it work. A lot of people don't know what superheroes, but it's basically somebody who fights to protect and save everybody else. That's the easiest way to describe it.
dunno being pleasantly plump sounds fine to me [and it's reassuring for Tenka too -- this is how he talks to a lot of younger people in Cerealia, but the bit of sass back and forth makes him think a lot of his older of his two younger brothers. It's rather nostalgic.
but tenka's just snorting faintly at the description. Someone who fights to protect and save everyone else? call Sousei a superhero then....] ive got a suspicion that you still arent expected to save everybody all by yourself. you definitely have help, right??
[He asks just because when he was younger and wanted to protect the country, he still had his own team too.... it sounds very familiar.]
Test that theory and see how that works out for you.
And maybe not, but my team's not here and I don't want to drag my new friends into being a new team. I dragged my friends from home into being heroes in the first place. [Because why not? Clearly that's what every 14 year old should be doing.] I've got help back home and...I've got Baymax here, and maybe a couple of other friends who know what they're doing. Doesn't that count for something?
[Well. Tenka loves banter as much as the next person, he definitely does.
But what Hiro's saying in the rest of his text requires more of his attention. He'll even try harder to add punctuation for you, Hiro.]
counts for a lot, hiro-kun.
But take it from me. Doing everything on your own can get dangerous and youre too young to have to figure that out the hard way. if nothing else I know a thing or two about defending myself and protecting a prefecture and i know a lot of people who would only want to help you and your causes.
the other thing is that youd be surprised. Some people might never realize but they might just be meant to be heroes. I doubt you dragged your friends into it as much as you think.... inspiration can look like coercion sometimes yknow?
[Take it from someone who was trying to save the world at age 13 too, Hiro.]
The thing about it is? I don't want more people to be put in danger, Tenka. We're already at a high risk by being here, it doesn't make sense to aggravate it even further by getting people to follow me and what I want to do here. If I have the means to help people, that's what I'm gonna do. I don't want to find out that my friends couldn't actually stand up for themselves when it's too late.
...I mean maybe, but. The whole thing's complicated. It's okay. I know people aren't going to really get it but it's what I'm going to do here.

well.... guess it is a little off. not sure what could be causing it though. haven't found any patterns to it either
