[SIGH.] I'm fine, Trowa. I'm eating when I get hungry and sleeping when I get tired. Isn't that good enough? [Probably not, since too much time passes between those periods.] And what about you? Are you eating and sleeping enough?

If more than eight hours are passing between meals and more than twenty four for resting periods, it's bordering on unhealthy. [ TRUST HIM he knows going more than forty eight hours without rest becomes incredibly terrible and stupid. ]

Enough people are sick. I'm not going to sacrifice my health and add to the mix. [ So yes. ]

I've got this. And anyway Baymax is kind of forcing me to take breaks when we're approaching unhealthy levels of working. [It's debatable if he listens to the robot, but Baymax definitely tries.]

But tell me about it. Who do you know that's gone down already? [He might be interested in adding names to his list to do more research, don't mind him.]

Personally? No one. At least, no one I've checked in with lately. I don't know what the pattern is. [ A small bit of silence. ] But I do know at least two people running themselves moderately ragged out of worry.

We're all pretty stumped pattern-wise. But that's just as dangerous…what people? We should keep an eye on them, too.

[Jerk. But he recognizes the other name, too.] I actually saw Otome not too long ago. We've been comparing notes and organizing data to see if we can find a pattern. I didn't know you knew her, too.

We're friends because I have a sense of self preservation and you don't.

Figured you'd be working together, compiling information is easier that way. I met her when I first got here. We keep in contact.

Probably as good a reason as any, but who needs self preservation when you have technology?

[Not entirely serious at least.] I met her the same day I met you and she told me back then she was a doctor. Figured she'd be a good one to touch base with. I didn't think she'd be someone you keep tabs on.

Technology is there to help aid self preservation, not replace it.

She told me the same thing when we met. I wasn't going to keep in touch intentionally, but she has a very persuasive personality. I didn't see the downside to continue communication.

Persuasive's a good way to put it. She's sharp. Definitely a good person to work with and I haven't met any other doctors here besides the robots and aliens at the hospital. A doctor on our side could really help us out. As far as I can tell there's never a downside to communicating with people around here.

No other doctors? How odd. [ Not that he knows a ton personally, but it's a fairly occupied profession back home, regardless of war. The medical field still remains lucrative. ]

The wider your network is, the more you're liable to get done. Not a bad place to be in.

Some other healers, but no other real doctors. Could also just be because I haven't been looking that hard...the only reason I found out about Otome is because there was a title hanging over her head and she corrected me. [There's a sound of agreement then.]

I've been trying to network and learn about people as much as possible here just to be on the safe side of things. With the way things go in the colony you never know when we're going to need a doctor or a waterbender or a demon tamer or...I don't know, a circus clown or something. [A beat.] I mean I've never met one of those here but I'm just saying. Everything's possible and that's both good and bad.

[cannonades]

Hm. [ Healers though, good to know. ] Otome told me pretty much off the bat, so that sounds like her, certainly.

Would you believe me if I said I worked in a circus?

Before I got here, I was the target for the knife thrower. She's really quite good.

What? [What the actual fuck, Trowa.] Why a knife thrower? Why a circus? There're other things that can count as cover aren't there?

She needed a target and I'm not afraid of much anymore. It was a good match. [ Of course there's more reasoning behind that but– ] The last place anyone is going to think to look for a rebel pilot is a circus. I couldn't do anything with stability or within military ranks. Admittedly, the pay isn't so bad.

I can't even come up with a good argument for that. The last place anybody would look is a circus. [There's a pause.] So wait does that mean if I threw sharp objects at you you'd know how to dodge them? [After the initial shock? Now it's just actually funny.]

It's a good cover, like I said. I could dodge them or catch them, probably. Piloting for as long as I have has helped my reflexes quite a bit.

Remind me to call you next time I want to test out some of my weapons. I'm still in the prototype phase of one of them that splits into three blades. [...] Unless you think maybe you could teach me that?

It's not a practice I'd necessarily recommend. Moreover, I can throw knives, but I'm not as good as Catherine. My specialties are in ballistics and firearms. I'm not about to start shooting at you.

Why not? One of the girls training me has gauntlets that shoot things. [He seems to realize how stupid that sounds though.] I mean I appreciate you not shooting me but...I could use the agility training.

What sorts of things?

If I can acquire a firearm that doesn't shoot actual bullets, I'll consider it. I have doubts Tadashi will let me live if I accidentally shot you with a real gun.

[ Truthfully, he'd have a hard time getting past that. Unfortunately, his aim is very accurate. ]

Can't firearms shoot blanks or whatever? [He's not exactly encouraging this but at the same time he's just remembering something.] ...besides, I'd dodged bullets before but just barely. I want to be better.
